West Wicklow RFC Photo and Video Policy

Aligned with IRFU Governance Guidelines

1. Purpose

Blessington Rugby Football Club recognises that photographs and videos can be used to celebrate participation and promote the club. However, the safety and privacy of young players must always be protected.

2. Use of Photography

Photography and video recordings may be used for:

  • Promoting club activities

  • Celebrating player participation

  • Reporting on matches and events

All photography must be appropriate and respectful.

3. Consent

Parental or guardian consent must be obtained before photographs or videos of players under 18 are taken or shared by the club.  Parents and guardians will be given the option to opt out of photography if they wish.

4. Images

Images should:

  • Focus on the activity or sport being played.

  • Be taken in a public sporting environment.

5. Use of Images Online

Images shared on club websites or social media:

  • Should not include personal information such as addresses or contact details.

  • Should avoid identifying players by full name where possible.

6. Concerns

If anyone has concerns regarding the use of photography or video involving young players, they should report the matter to the Club Welfare Officer.
